OK, I know I was a child of the sixties, and forty years ago I got to stay up late to witness the Eagle landing, so a website dedicated to the Apollo 11 mission to the moon is bound to be of serious interest to me.

That said, this thoroughly comprehensive site is jam packed with animations, video clips, interviews, photos and loads of information about the mission. All relayed in a minute by minute account from start to finish.

T minus 10 seconds until you check it out. Go on ...

This is a genuine ad which is still pinned up in my local cafe in Hackney.

When I saw it I thought to myself "If this credit crisis gets any worse, we'll all end up like this pitiful guy".

However, when I checked out his site I was pleasantly surprised. Far from 'pitiful', this guy's site is an uplifting find.

Clever bit of marketing Hamish :-)

'Literature easily digestible'

An interesting way of promoting 'literature' from an established german publishing house. Fun idea, pity it's only in German.

'Instead of the familiar meat skewer, the doner kebab on the website is formed of selected quotes. To every quote there is information about author, title and a brief summary of the work. In addition, one can browse the doner by keyboard, memorize quotes in a personalised 'My Doner Kebab', print out or send quotes to friends and buy the titles on the publishing company's website.'

I am not a user interface designer, but I think this blog could be a great site for somebody looking for inspiration.

There is a gallery of user interface and interaction examples, another gallery that looks at the design aspect of websites (i.e how influential, innovative, and effective are they) and a blog section.

According to the creator Michael Angeles, his goal is to "prove the point that design patterns are nice, but innovation for the sake of improving contextual experience is better".

I have bookmarked it!
