    art, light

Having enjoyed the Dan Flavin retrospective exhibition at the Hayward Gallery earlier this year, I was delighted to find this additional component to the exhibition microsite. Microsites are now standard requirement for all major exhibitions of this kind, of course, and the information part of the site for this show was itself very nicely executed too by the way.

This is the section that gave me the biggest smile though. The 'Dan Flavin - Dedications' section brings you the opportunity to create your own virtual lightwork in the manner of Dan Flavin. The tools are fun and easy to use, as they should be, allowing you to select lights of different lengths, assign colours to them and position them on the gallery wall. The experience of creating your work is rewarding, especially as your final work is saved for all to see. The quality of work that it is possible to create must have Dan wishing that creating the real thing was this easy too.

Don't take my word for it go try it out...

We'd like you to rate a project for success in three different areas. Tick looks good if it is aesthetically pleasing, and tick works well if it is technically innovative. Most importantly tick performs effectively if you think it meets all of its professional objectives.

Obviously we don't really expect to see any work submitted that is no good, but you never know.
