We'd like you to rate a project for success in three different areas. Tick looks good if it is aesthetically pleasing, and tick works well if it is technically innovative. Most importantly tick performs effectively if you think it meets all of its professional objectives.

Obviously we don't really expect to see any work submitted that is no good, but you never know.

Long live digi-democracy

This is a difficult site to comment upon, or rate, without directly engaging in the activity of lending or borrowing money to see whether it really works. One's natural distrust of anything that seems too good to be true clouds ones view. That said, it is a wonderful notion, and one that for me really highlights the democratic potential of the web to empower both the individual and the community, and to bypass the kind of financial hold that the corporate world would otherwise have over us.

This is the kind of public service the internet was created for.

OK, I'm more convinced now...

I must admit that I was a bit cautious about how 'safe' an online community banking service like this could actually be, but I just heard James (?), one of the founders of Zopa, interviewed on Chris Evans' radio show this evening and it made me feel much better about the effectiveness and ethics of the service.

Does that mean that even I still need some 'old media' reassurance before buying into a new media proposition?
