Wordle

Just loved this...
"Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends."

It's conceptual.
There is something quite DaDa-esque about this idea. It reminds me of the experimental poetry of Tristan Tzara, who made poems out of newspaper articles. He would choose an article and then meticulously cut out each separate word, then put them all in to a bag and then randomly pick out words one by one and transcribe them in the order in which they came out.

At the risk of being remotely serious
These things are also great for capturing the heart of what something is about.
I'd love a wordle button on my browser to create one for any web document in particular. Any FF extension makers out there?
