A site from Denmark. According to those involved: "OPEN network is a tool for the creative industry.The purpose of OPENnetwork is to help everyone who is interested in design getting a thorough overview of this fascinating area. Furthermore we give a wide variety of designers the opportunity of presenting themselves and their work for the public and their colleagues" I'm still trying to get work it all out and thought I'd share it here...

very impressive

this is a fantastic example of the progress that has being taking place in the world of javascript libraries over the last year or two. html is really starting to behave like traditional software, most of the neat touches that would have been done with flash are now delivered without annoying plugins.

Unfortunately the site doesn't feel particularly intuitive, in fact i'm not even sure who it's aimed at.

Perhaps a bit more of a dig around will answer some of my questions...

Interesting post

This site functionalty is slick, it looks contemporary and feels energetic. I really like the way you can select multiple mini-panels to appear on your screen at one time. Then you can drag and drop the panels in to a different order. It is fun to be able to customise your own experience of the site.

I also found it hard to get to grips with what this site is actually about. I'm still not sure I've got it right. I think that LYNfabrikken is basically a collective. It seams to be a group of 30 creative companies, that collaborate with each other and share a studio space.

still playing with it....

A friend in Sweden highlighted it - web-wise there's a lot going on up there in Scandinavia. I don't get out much but there is some lovely stuff round those parts.

Re: the site - funny how we are still trying to work it out - is that a good thing? They told me if I wanted to put something up on the site it's free but I still have to figure out why if I'm not in Denmark.

Anyway, just thought, technically, it would be of some interest here. Can't shout much for it graphics-wise but as structure it's very impressive (if a bit tricky).

WHY OPENnetwork

Thanks for the interrest, I just want to say what OPENnetwork is all about. Its an APP that try to inspired people, and we think that it is impossible to guide people to be inspired so therefore its up to the viewer to find the stuff that inspired him/her. It´s all shown in tabs/one level so we do not say what is more important than the other. I understand that you are a bit frustrated as a user because you are not used to be on a website that dont tell you where to go. but we think that is whats interested. hope it was answer to your questions.
