The Last Riot
AES+F
This is a 24 minute, three-screen digital presentation. It is non-linear, juxtaposing high-resolution, classically stylised images of teenage revolution against apocalyptic images of globalisation, oil-conflict, new technologies, military industrial disaster capitalism, - framed in a low-resolution computer-generated mythoscape. The accompanying music is Wagner's Gotterdamerung. The impact of this piece is emotionally charged, and intellectually fascinating. It has an Eisenstein-like epic grandeur. In my opinion by far the best piece at the Biennale.

I need to see this
I've clicked through to the website and love the imagery for this project, it's both upfront and weirdly mysterious. I'm especially fond of the monochrome statues produced as an additional component of the piece, and I've added an image of them above.
Unfortunately the video does not appear to be uploaded yet, so the main presentation remains an intriguingly elusive figment of my imagination. I guess you just had to be in Venice to see it :-)
